Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP, is blood plasma with concentrated platelets and other growth factors.  The concentrated platelets found in your blood contain huge resevoirs of bioactive proteins, includinggrowth factor and signaling proteins that are essential to initiate and accelerate tissue repair and regeneratrion. These bioactive proteins initiate connective tissue healing in an area that has been damaged such as bone and articular cartilage regeneration and repair, promote the development of new blood vessels, and stimulate wound healing.  The PRP signals the body to send cells to repair the area of injury.  The use of concentrated growth factors (PRP) is new and cutting-edge technology that canhelp stimulate tissue repair, regenerate weakened torn or damaged ligamnets and joints.

PRP is derived from your own blood.  Yor blood is drawn and then centrifuged or filtered down to obtain the platelet rich plasma.  These highly concentrated platelets are then injected into damaged areas to catalyze new growth.

Platelet rich plasma contains growth factor necessary to begin repair and regeneration of tissue at the tissue site.  Concentrated platelets contain large reservoirs of growth factor that have potential to greatly accelerate the normal and natural ability for our bodies to heal itself.
